Nagorno (Raad van Europa)

6. Joint Debate

6.1 Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the occupied territories of Azerbaijan
6.2 Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water

Today, this Assemblee is discussing the Reports of Mr. Robert Walter and Ms Milica Markovic.

Almost 101 years after the Genocide that was committed against the Armenian people, the Armenian people still struggle for recognition of these atrocities committed against them and, more relevant for today's discussion, quiet and safe borders within their ancestral homeland.

In addition to the many speakers before me on this topic I have a question to the rapporteurs, Mr Walter and Ms Markovic

How can you recommend anything on this topic if you haven't carried out a fact finding missions within Nagorna-Karabakh and Armenia. This is a clear breach of the PACE rules and the Code of Conduct of the PACE Rapporteurs. I call upon this Assemblee to reject this report and mark it as a biased report at best.

Armenia is committed to a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karakabakh conflict.
The reports presented today by the biased Mr Walter and Ms Markovic, proved that the PACE is not the right body to interfere in this conflict. The PACE should acknowledge its incompetence displayed in the matter and leave the big toys to the big boys. In other words the OSCE Minsk Group Co Chairs (France, Russia and the USA) should remain the only internationally-mandated negotiation format dealing with the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
